Richard Tate III, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on October 18, 2021, in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 6:25 p.m. in the first block of West 113th Place. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Richard Tate III was struck in the back by gunfire.
