Suraj M. Mahadeva, a 26-year-old Asian man of Sri Lankan and Filipino descent, tragically lost his life on December 11, 2021, in Chicago, IL. Suraj was standing on the porch of a friend's home in the Palmer Square neighborhood when he was shot in the head. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 3:25 a.m., near the intersection of Albany and Dickens avenues. Despite being rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, Suraj was pronounced dead shortly after 4:00 a.m.
