On the afternoon of December 19, 2021, gunfire tore through northbound traffic on Interstate 57 near 159th Street in Markham, Illinois.
In the chaos, Robert A. Braboy, a 35-year-old African American male, was struck while traveling on the expressway.
Illinois State Police and first responders converged on the scene around 3:20–3:21 p.m., and the 35-year-old male was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
