Deputy Sheriff Sean Riley, a 38-year-old white male, was tragically killed on December 29, 2021, in Burnt Prairie, Illinois. Riley, who served with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, responded to a call to assist a motorist on Interstate 64 near mile marker 115 around 5:00 a.m. Upon arrival, he was fatally shot by Ray Tate, a 40-year-old male from Kentucky.
