On January 23, 2022, Makal Clark, a 19-year-old African American male from Harvey, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred in the 15900 block of South Paulina Street. Harvey police responded to the scene and found Clark with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. that day. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
