Russell Simmons, a 33-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 27, 2019, in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. in the 15500 block of Turlington Avenue. According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Simmons sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead approximately ten minutes after the shooting. His death was officially ruled a homicide.
