On the morning of February 17, 2022, 15-year-old Jamerion Wales was standing outside in the 5800 block of South Paulina Street in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood. At approximately 9:10 a.m., a black Chevrolet approached, and an individual inside the vehicle opened fire, striking Wales in the head and torso.
