Roosevelt Sims, a 42-year-old African American man from Springfield, Illinois, was tragically killed on August 14, 2022. Sims, known affectionately as "Roedy," was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of North 8th Street. Despite being rushed to HSHS St. John's Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. on August 15, 2022.
