Garvis Jones, a 31-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, on September 3, 2022. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue. Chicago police officers responding to the sound of automatic gunfire found Jones lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest.
