On February 19, 2012, Asif Memon, a 31-year-old male of South Asian descent, was fatally shot outside the Krush nightclub located at 1674 N. Elston Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. when Memon and another 23-year-old male were standing near a vehicle. An unidentified male approached them on foot and opened fire. Memon sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:28 a.m
