On October 29, 2016, Luis Corona, a 19-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the city's Southwest Side. The incident occurred while Corona was sitting in a parked vehicle in the 4800 block of South Karlov Avenue at around 8:05 p.m. According to reports, two males approached and announced a robbery before opening fire.
