On September 24, 2022, Jarvis Joiner, a 25-year-old African American male from Peoria, Illinois, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The Peoria County Coroner's Office identified Joiner as the city's 19th homicide victim of the year. According to the coroner, Joiner suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died instantly at the scene.
