In the quiet community of Manderson, South Dakota, the life of 38-year-old Jamie Leo Graham was tragically cut short on January 5, 2022. A man known for his mechanical skills and love for working on automobiles, Jamie was found deceased in what would unfold as a grim triple homicide. His sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him were silenced that day, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends.

Jamie, who was born on May 21, 1983, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, had a passion for dismantling and customizing bicycles and a talent for art, often drawing pictures and tattoos. He was a personable man who easily made friends and was known for his soft spot for dogs, always having a canine companion by his side. He shared his life with his special friend, Alma Ree Howe, who is also mentioned as having passed away with him. His obituary notes he was a father to Misty Graham, Grace Romero, Maggie Romero, Michael Graham, and Donna Graham.

The investigation into Jamie's death, along with the deaths of Alma Garneaux, 38, and Michael White Plume Sr., 39, was a joint effort between the Oglala Sioux tribal police and the FBI. Their work led to the identification of a person of interest, who was initially detained on unrelated charges shortly after the discovery of the victims.

The suspect was later identified as Elijah West. He was subsequently charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. Following a five-day trial in Rapid City in September 2022, West was convicted on all counts for the murders of Jamie Leo Graham, Alma Garneaux, and Michael White Plume Sr. He received three consecutive life sentences for his crimes.
