On January 5, 2022, the life of Michael James White Plume, a 39-year-old Oglala Lakota man, was tragically cut short in a residence in Wounded Knee, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He was a father of five, with children ranging in age from eight to twenty years old.
