Stephen Davis, a 31-year-old white male, served as the Chief of Police in Ocilla, Georgia. On June 27, 1910, he tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The incident occurred while Chief Davis, along with Deputy Sheriff T.W. Sheffield and Sheriff Pearlie McInnis, attempted to arrest a suspect on domestic violence charges.
