Melvin John Clark, a 41-year-old white male, died on June 1, 1947, in Banks County, Georgia. Clark, who was a Special Agent with the Alcohol Tax Unit (ATU), was involved in a raid on an illegal still operation near Homer, Georgia. During the raid, Clark and his fellow agents, including Robert Kay and Woodrow Langford, along with four Georgia Revenue Agents, took up various surveillance positions around the still.
