In the summer of 1947, a dedicated lawman's life was tragically cut short in the woods of Banks County, Georgia. Investigator Melvin John Clark, a 41-year-old male, was part of a team of federal and state agents conducting a raid on an illegal still near Homer on June 1, 1947.
