In the summer of 2023, a violent encounter in Mableton, Georgia, claimed the life of 35-year-old Marquel Gammage. On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 21st, Cobb County Police responded to a report of a shooting on Whispering Pines Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered three men, two of whom had sustained gunshot wounds.
Marquel Gammage was found critically injured and was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries. The second victim, identified as 41-year-old Jeremiah Davis of Austell, was also shot and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A third man, 34-year-old Jocques Williams of Powder Springs, was present at the scene but was not harmed.
The circumstances that led to the shooting have not been publicly disclosed by law enforcement. The Cobb County Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the incident. Authorities have not released any information regarding a potential suspect or suspects in the case, and no arrests have been announced.
