John Joseph "J.J." Brown, a 49-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on April 14, 1981, in Savannah, Georgia. Sergeant Brown was a dedicated officer with the Savannah Police Department. His death occurred during a shootout with a suspect who had fired at the officers. In the chaos of the confrontation, Sergeant Brown was accidentally shot and killed by a fellow officer.
