Joseph Emmanuel Davis, a 35-year-old African American male, was a dedicated police officer with the Atlanta Police Department. On June 7, 1989, Officer Davis tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The incident occurred when he was pursuing a robbery suspect on foot.
