On June 13, 1990, 27-year-old Linda Renee Blackmon from Elbert County, Georgia, encountered Leonard Maurice Drane and his roommate, David Robert Willis, outside a liquor store. Blackmon requested crack cocaine, and the trio decided to ride together to drink. Willis drove them to a secluded area near a lake, where he engaged in sexual activity with Blackmon inside the truck while Drane stood nearby.
