Kenneth Lee Wimberly Sr., a 32-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 22, 1998, in Tucker, Georgia. Deputy Sheriff Wimberly, who had served with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office for four years, was off duty at the time of his death. He had just moved into the Hunter's Pointe Apartments on Jimmy Carter Boulevard when he was approached by residents about an emotionally disturbed individual causing a disturbance.
