Sergeant Carlton Daniel Jenkins, a 36-year-old male, tragically lost his life on August 28, 2000, in Camden County, Georgia. Sergeant Jenkins, who served with the Camden County Sheriff's Office, was conducting a traffic stop on northbound I-95 near mile marker 19 at approximately 12:39 am. He had stopped an older model vehicle in response to a bulletin from a neighboring jurisdiction in Florida, which linked the vehicle to several armed robberies that had occurred earlier that evening.
