In the early morning hours of a February day in 2014, the life of 26-year-old Donald DJ Battle Jr. was tragically cut short in a shooting outside a tavern in Flowery Branch, Georgia. A recent transplant to Georgia from Minnesota, the young man, who was male, had been at the Branch House Tavern on McEver Road, and the fatal encounter occurred just after 2 a.m.
as he was leaving.
According to the manager of the tavern, Battle and another man, who was accompanied by a woman, left the establishment around closing time.
