Michael Jerome Allen, a 52-year-old Black man, was a native of Millen, Georgia, who had made Savannah his home for the last 28 years. He was a father of four sons and was employed by the International Longshoremen's Association Local 1414 for over a decade. His life was cut short on Friday, June 13, 2014, when he succumbed to a gunshot wound at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
