In the quiet town of Lagrange, Maine, the life of 25-year-old Kristin Lynn Hart was brought to a tragic end on November 29, 2007. On that day, she was fatally shot in her own home. The events that unfolded painted a grim picture of domestic turmoil fueled by drugs.
The investigation into the young woman's death quickly focused on her husband, Jeremy Hart, who was 34 years old at the time. Evidence gathered by investigators pointed to him as the perpetrator.
It was revealed that a party, where cocaine was reportedly used, had been taking place at their residence. During the party, Jeremy Hart discovered his wife with another man in their darkened bedroom. The other man later told authorities that he and Kristin were kissing and fondling when her husband entered the room.
Initially, Jeremy Hart denied firing a weapon. However, he later admitted to discharging several shots from a rifle. Investigators determined that five bullets were fired, with the trajectories converging near the foot of the bed where Kristin was believed to be hiding.
