William Rountree 'Bill' DaVitte, a 55-year-old male from Martinez, Georgia, was fatally shot on Thursday, August 14, 2014, in a violent and tragic encounter that also left his wife injured. The couple had gone to Marvin United Methodist Church in Martinez to turn on the sprinkler system when they were attacked. During the assault, Mr. DaVitte was shot and killed, and his wife, Jennifer, sustained head injuries.
