On a late summer evening in Augusta, Georgia, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of a local family. Quintroy Roberts, a 29-year-old African American man, was fatally shot on the night of August 24, 2014. The incident unfolded in front of a residence on Carrie Street around 11:10 p.m. When Richmond County sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Roberts had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
