In the summer of 2015, a dispute in southwest Atlanta tragically cut short the life of a young man. On the evening of June 15th, Xavier Cummings, a 24-year-old male, was shot in the 1000 block of Oakland Drive SW. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m., after which Cummings was transported to Grady Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
According to the Atlanta police, it is believed that a disagreement of some nature escalated, leading to the fatal gunfire.
The Fulton County medical examiner's office confirmed Cummings' identity. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement began an investigation into the shooting. However, there have been no subsequent public reports regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with the death of Xavier Cummings.
