Sanford David Rice, a 75-year-old hiker from Blachly, Oregon, was last seen on June 23, 2016, in the Marion Forks area near the Marion Lake Trailhead, where he planned to do a day hike. His vehicle was found at the trailhead with entry receipts indicating his intent to hike. Several hikers reported seeing him near the lake that day. Despite extensive search efforts in the challenging terrain, no trace of Rice has been found, and his case remains unsolved.
