On September 6, 2015, Derrick Jamal Kitchens, a 31-year-old African American male from Sandersville, Georgia, was fatally shot following an altercation. The incident occurred at a residence on Tarver Street in Sandersville. According to reports, the altercation involved Derrick Jamal Kitchens and another man, identified as 27-year-old Quintarus Henderson.
