On March 17, 2025, 25-year-old Donte Jennings, a Black male resident of Chicago Heights, Illinois, was fatally shot in the 500 block of West 15th Street. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, Jennings sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 9:00 p.m. that evening at Stroger Hospital in Chicago. His death was officially ruled a homicide.
