In the early hours of Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the community of Sauk Village, a suburb in Chicago's Southland, was shaken by an act of violence that claimed the life of 36-year-old Aaron Pickens. The incident unfolded in the 21600 block of Jeffrey Avenue, where Pickens was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene around 2:00 a.m.
