Divante Rodriekus Simmons, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 1, 2016, in Covington, Georgia. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Gum Tree Court, where Simmons was found in front of a home with fatal gunshot wounds. Another victim, a 35-year-old male, was also shot but survived and was taken to a local hospital.
