Father Rene Wayne Robert, a 71-year-old white male priest from St. Augustine, Florida, was tragically murdered on April 10, 2016, in Waynesboro, Georgia. Father Robert was known for his dedication to helping those on the fringes of society, including ex-convicts. His compassionate nature led him to assist Steven James Murray, a 28-year-old man recently released from jail in Jacksonville, Florida. Unfortunately, this act of kindness resulted in his untimely death.
