Morris Harden Jr., a 58-year-old African American man from Augusta, Georgia, was found dead on July 10, 2022, in Burke County, near Waynesboro, GA. His body was discovered around 11:16 a.m. on the 1200 block of Watkins Pond Road, between Old Waynesboro Road and Highway 56. Authorities reported that Harden had sustained a gunshot wound, and the preliminary investigation suggested foul play, leading to the case being treated as a homicide.
