In the summer of 2016, the community of Waycross, Georgia, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of 21-year-old Cameron Wilkins Jr., an African American male. On the evening of June 18th, gunfire erupted at the Garlington Heights apartments, a public housing complex. When Waycross Police Department officers responded to the 911 calls around 10:35 p.m., they discovered a chaotic scene with four individuals having been shot.
