In the late summer of 2016, a tragedy unfolded in a Stockbridge, Georgia motel room that cut short the life of Elimisha Maryetta Gates, a 40-year-old African American woman. On August 23rd, police were dispatched to the Express Inn & Suites on West Highway 138 after receiving a call about a person down.
