In the chill of a December evening in southeast Atlanta, a verbal altercation escalated into a fatal encounter that claimed the life of Quintavious Finley. On Thursday, December 8, 2016, at approximately 9:20 p.m., the 21-year-old man from East Point was shot at least once at the Golf Vista Apartments, located in the 400 block of Cleveland Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Finley had succumbed to his injuries.
The individual who allegedly shot Finley remained at the
apartment complex and was described by Atlanta police as being cooperative with the investigation. Authorities believe the shooting was preceded by a verbal dispute between the two individuals. Investigators recovered the firearm that they suspect was used in the incident.
Crime scene detectives were on-site, collecting evidence, including searching for bullet casings and speaking with potential witnesses to piece together the events that led to the deadly shooting.
