In the winter of 2016, a man lost his life in a shooting in Albany, Georgia. Curtis Davis Jr., a 36-year-old male, was found with a fatal gunshot wound on December 17, 2016, in the alley situated between West Society Avenue and West Tift Avenue. Another man who was with Davis at the time, De Haven Harris, was also a victim of aggravated assault during the incident but did not sustain serious injuries.
The investigation into the death of Curtis Davis Jr. led to the identification and eventual arrest of several individuals. Early in the investigation, authorities apprehended three men in connection with the homicide. Brian Massey, 29, and Berrick Redding, 21, were both charged with conspiracy to commit felony murder and aggravated assault. A third suspect, 22-year-old Cordarrius Clay, faced charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.
As the case progressed, law enforcement continued to seek additional persons of interest. Their efforts resulted in the arrest of 24-year-old Reginald Hosley, who was taken into custody and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and a probation violation. The search for others involved in the shooting continued, with the Albany Police Department seeking help from the public to locate three more suspects.
Ultimately, two more men, Montravious Parks, 25, and Alonzo Jones, 19, were identified and sought on charges related to the murder. Parks was wanted for felony murder and aggravated assault, while Jones was wanted for conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated assault. Both men were eventually taken into custody. These same two individuals were also later named as primary suspects in a separate shooting incident that occurred in April of the following year.
