In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Savannah, Georgia, the life of 18-year-old Daylon Kimini Thomas was tragically cut short. On June 11, 2017, the young male was fatally shot outside the Heritage Square Apartments located in the 9100 block of White Bluff Road. The sound of gunfire prompted calls to the authorities at approximately 11:50 p.m.
Upon their arrival at the apartment complex, police officers discovered Thomas with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. In the initial stages of the investigation, detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department stated that they were pursuing several leads and did not consider the shooting to be a random act of violence.
