James L. Watson Griffin, a 32-year-old man from Savannah, Georgia, was tragically killed on July 6, 2011. He was found slumped over in his truck on LeGrand Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Griffin was transported to Memorial University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The shooting occurred in broad daylight, around 2 p.m., and immediately prompted an investigation by the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.
