Marcus Mitchell, a 20-year-old African American male from Atlanta, GA, tragically lost his life on June 23, 2017. The incident occurred when Marcus was allegedly attempting to steal a car outside an apartment complex on Candler Road. The car owner, Josiah Gilbert, witnessed the attempted theft from his apartment window. In response, Gilbert grabbed his gun and shot Marcus in the back of the head as he was running away.
