In the summer of 2017, the life of 34-year-old Brandon Scott was cut short in a burst of gunfire on Rigdon Road in Columbus, Georgia. On the evening of Friday, July 7th, chaos erupted, and when the scene was finally cleared, Scott had succumbed to his injuries, the victim of a fatal shooting. A Black male, his death left a void in the lives of those who knew him.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Columbus Police Department began their investigation, seeking to piece
together the events that led to the senseless violence. Early on, authorities announced that they were looking for a group of between six and ten individuals who were believed to have been in the vicinity of the shooting and may have been involved. The search for these persons of interest was a primary focus for detectives as they worked to understand the motive and identify who was responsible for Brandon Scott's death.
Despite the initial leads and the police department's public appeal for information, the investigation into Brandon Scott's murder has stretched on without a resolution. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with his death, and no suspects have been publicly named.
