In the late morning of July 19, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the daytime calm at the Crescent Square Apartments on Austell Road in Marietta, Georgia. When the chaos subsided, 29-year-old Roland Milton III, an African American male, was found dead in the parking lot. The police were called to the scene at 11:34 a.m. and discovered Milton had succumbed to his injuries. The brazen daytime shooting left the community in shock and a family searching for answers.
