On January 20, 2018, Troris Murphy, a 40-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in Jonesboro, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Riverwood Townhouses on Flint River Road, where Murphy had gone to visit his children. According to police reports, Murphy was involved in a physical altercation with his children's mother.
