On December 28, 2018, Roderick Crawford, a 46-year-old resident of Barnesville, Georgia, informed his family that he was going to check his work schedule at J & M Tank Lines. He attempted to call his wife at 7:19 p.m., but she missed the call. Shortly thereafter, his phone was traced to a cell tower near Thomaston, Georgia.
