On a late spring evening in Thomaston, Georgia, a celebration of academic achievement turned into a scene of tragedy. It was May 28, 2022, and a graduation party was in full swing at the Main Event Center, with around 200 young people in attendance. Among them was 18-year-old Akeem Ellison, a recent graduate of Manchester High School where he had been a football player. The festivities were shattered when a fight broke out inside the venue, escalating to gunfire.
