Jeremy Alexander Brookins, a 30-year-old African American male from Jacksonville, Florida, was tragically killed on March 10, 2019, in Waycross, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Hampton Inn located at 1720 Brunswick Highway. Police responded to reports of people being chased in the parking lot by individuals with guns around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Brookins near the hotel's pool area with gunshot wounds.
