Derek Ward, a 32-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on December 6, 2019, in northwest Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. at the Daron Village Apartments on Harwell Road. According to the Atlanta Police Department, Ward was shot in the head and subsequently rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
