On a late Monday afternoon, February 24, 2020, the body of 18-year-old Omari Syncere Alexander, an African American male, was discovered by a passing motorist. He was found near a private driveway on County Line Road in a rural area of Long County, Georgia, near Rye Patch. The Long County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene, and it was quickly determined that the young man's death was a homicide.
